21st Blast Furnace Course
May 9-14, 2010
An in-depth, week-long course held every second year.  It covers every aspect of blast furnace ironmaking on 22 lectures given by experts in the field, supplemented by a computer game, and plant tours.

WISE Initiative 2010 International Women's Day Conference

AIST - Computer Applications Best Paper Award
Dr. G.A. Irons together with his former Ph.D. student Ho Yong Wang have been awarded the 2010 Computer Applications Award for Best Paper for their paper entitled “Experimental and Mathematical Studies of Impinging Gas Jets on Liquid Surfaces.” 

AIST - Charles W. Briggs Best Paper Award
Dr. G.A. Irons, Dr. K.S. Coley, their visiting PDF F.Ji and former MASc student M. King have been selected as the recipient of the AIST Charles W. Briggs Award for Best Paper for their paper entitled “Kinetics of Carbon Reaction with Electric Arc Furnace Slags During Slag Foaming.” 

Congratulations to the authors on these notable achievements.
